From the Top Down . . . into the Gutter

Many of us in the Republican Party take part in the quarterly meetings of the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF). Those of us who have been paying attention are not taken in by the well-practiced rhetoric of Party leadership. Instead, we have noticed something is greatly amiss, because we are looking at the ACTIONS of leadership, from the State RPOF Chairman down to the Chairs of our local county Republican Executive Committees.

Observations over the past year of Christian Zieglar, the Chair of the state party, and his wife, Bridget, revealed a broken relationship. At a local park with their children, both were on their phones and never spoke or looked at each other. It was a complete freeze out. Their marriage has been "off" to outsiders for a long time. 

The news today that Christian Ziegler is being investigated for alleged sexual battery by a lover he shared with his wife wasn't shocking ... it confirmed suspicion:

“Sarasota Police Department mentioning Ziegler, and the agency produced heavily redacted reports from an officer who responded to the initial complaint and detective. The records note that the case is an "active criminal investigation."

If Bridget was pressured into threesomes with Ziegler's female friend the best thing she can do is be honest that it was not her choice. She would be standing up for countless women who have been sexually blackmailed by husbands who primarily wanted to have an affair, and wouldn't feel so bad about it if his wife was in the room as he did it.  

So many people in the Republican Party are living a double life. Homosexuals pretend to be straight, liars pretend to be honest . . . and for the most part, they get away with it.

WHY?

Because we are nice people. We think everyone else is nice (just like us), with no ulterior motives, or shady agendas. But one of the most-used, effective tactics in Florida politics is this: fool us by agreeing with us.

Christian Zieglar used to go by ‘Chris’ Zieglar before he entered politics, (kinda like Marco Rubio was ‘Mark’ until the Bushes told him Republicans needed the hispanic vote and “Mark” ought to change his name to fool the voters). I bet if you asked Chris, he would agree with you right now that having a threesome with your wife and your lover isn’t the best move for a Christian family man.

He’ll agree with us that it was wrong. He may apologize. He may say he will never do it again. Or have some excuse for why this happened. Let me guess: it’s the “liberal” media and the story is “politically motivated.” That might be true: there are political operatives looking to take out Republican representatives. Why do Republican leaders give them so much ammunition??

Christian might dodge this …. but if you let it go, he will repeat it.

Deny. Excuse. Apologize. Repeat.

We have some very problematic leadership in the Republican Party of Florida.

For example, little ol’ conservative Manatee County elected a “nice” Chairwoman. She seemed conservative. Like a good Republican. Heck—she even led the Trump Train.

Doesn’t she seem nice? But then we learn Ms. Culbreath (who went by Dugan at the time) had sex on duty as a Manatee County Sheriff’s Deputy, was caught kissing another woman (her superior) while on duty …. AND punched a guy in the face who tried to stop her from stealing private property.

Now she is running as the District 7 Commissioner. Nobody in the Manatee GOP thought her behavior should disqualify her for a leadership position? How could they, she is the CHAIR of the Manatee GOP!

Forget THEIR standards.

Where are OURS?

At what point do we INSIST that we want GOOD MEN AND WOMEN to represent us … men and women who love America, their families, and their community more than their flesh, their ambition, and their greed?

Florida News Report is calling for the resignation of Chris Ziegler TODAY.

He is unqualified to lead. And we need to refuse to follow. The Republican Party cannot have this kind of distraction during the 2024 Presidential Election and this story will follow the Zieglers for the rest of their political lives. Let’s look at what is at stake for us - we cannot hand the Left another win by giving them fodder like this. We cannot afford another four years under Biden.

There will never be a photo any of the Republican Party Presidential candidates with Florida State Chairman Ziegler without this story being included in the caption. So that means no events in Florida for those presidential candidates will include the Zieglers. That means no Lincoln Day Dinners or Reagan BBQs will include the Zieglers because no Republicans can afford to be associated with them. How will the Republican Party of Florida continue to fundraise with him at the helm?

We cannot afford to to have Christian Ziegler as Chairman. He is a distraction from the largest fight of the party’s life - the fight for the White House.

Christian Ziegler must resign.
