Florida MAGA Republicans Join Their County RECs Are Shocked to Learn Republicans Are at War With MAGA, not Democrats

In the immortal words of Rodney King, “CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG???!!!”

NO, Rodney, may you rest in peace, we CANNOT all just get along and we are about to tell everybody why not.

We’ve all watched the D.C. Republican Establishment and the RINOs in office violate the Republican Party Platform for decades. However, Florida Republicans didn’t look like those Republicans until we started checking out their voting records and which bills in the Florida House and Senate were left to die without any committee hearings.

There were good Florida bills, even great Florida bills, all based on the Republican Party Platform ranging from deregulating industries and professions (did Florida Republicans REALLY require hair braiders to be licensed? Yes, yes they did), to strengthening Florida gun rights enabling Floridians to protect themselves and their families. There were bills written to protect Floridians’ Right to Privacy and bills to protect Floridians’ Property Rights.

And they died. And not by accident. These bills died by design. Florida Republican leadership wasn’t interested in the Republican Party Platform even though the Florida Republican Voters were.

But the Republican Party of Florida had a chokehold on the GOP candidates and shoved a countless number of them down our throats - even recycling several because the Florida GOP lacked any creativity or imagination. Yeah… we voted for them, but oh, how we longed for someone to come along we could actually get excited about, instead of voting to keep the Democrat from the seat.

Admit it - you are like us and spent most of your adult life voting against the Democrat candidate instead of being motivated to support the Republican candidate, “Marty Milquetoast.”

And then……… Donald J. Trump came down the escalator.

Finally! A candidate who may not have read the Republican Party Platform, but he certainly talked about a lot of the same policy positions and shared our same conservative ideology ranging from foreign aid to bringing back the American jobs that were shipped overseas and causing the Middle Class to stumble.

Make America Great Again

He said it. We wanted it. Trump activated a block of the Republican Voters that appeared to have given up on the Party somewhere between George and George W. These were reticent Republican Party members - keeping their disgust of the GOP to themselves because Democrats were worse. And the “lesser of two evils” argument used to Get Out the Vote by the RNC and the RPOF worked - and it’s still working, right?

These were the folks who stood in line for hours to get into a Trump Rally. These were the folks who were buying t-shirts and ball caps. This was the MAGA crowd and they were being heard for the first time in years.

Too Big To Be Ignored… or Controlled

Can you imagine the conversation around the strategy table at the RNC about Trump in 2016 during the election? We laugh at just the thought of their conundrum! Now in 2022, we see what their strategy was… wait him out.

And if they were waiting Trump out, the GOP was also waiting MAGA out. And MAGA was you and me.

Record Scratch: 11/4/2020. The day after the Presidential Election.

While MAGA Republicans knew what they just watched was BS, the Republican Establishment was already rolling out, “Operation Trump in the Rearview of American Politics.”

Only MAGA Republicans didn’t realize that the National Republican leadership, including Florida Republican leadership would initially be operating to rid itself of the Trump influence covertly and as time passed, overtly.

MAGA Republicans all over Florida decided to get involved in what we are now going to refer to as the “Mass MAGA Influx.” And the MAGA Influx was about to get gastric reflux….. because they didn’t know the Florida GOP had rolled up the welcome mat and were about to smack the MAGA Republicans in the face with it.

From turning MAGA Republicans away from joining the local party with explanations like, “You are more suited to join your local TEA Party, not the GOP” to “Wow, we cannot find your membership application… eight times in a row.. so weird, right?” to “If you were in D.C. January 6th, you’re an insurgent and get the hell out of here right now!”

OR in some of the more civilized local County Republican Executive Committees, the Republican Establishment just ignored the MAGA members and ignored the RPOF Rules and ignored Roberts Rules of Order or the Chair and Board Election Rules hoping MAGA wouldn’t notice.

Poor MAGA Republicans! They came in thinking they were joining with other “like-minded” Republicans only to find screaming matches during meetings, countless “grievances” filed and eighty year old Republicans wanting to choke MAGA Republicans out in the parking lot. And while we are sorry for all the strife you are being exposed to within the Party, we want you to know that the answer to this is not KUMBAYA.

You, dear MAGA friend, have found yourself in the middle of a war and the rule is in any war, the first to capitulate is the one who loses.

We cannot be clearer, MAGA cannot nor should not ever cave, give in or support the Republican Establishment which has declared war on you, MAGA friend. While it’s aggravating, annoying and a PITA to deal with, they are attempting to return the Republican Party back to its’ full control - and no longer pretending that they supported the Trump presidency and that it was a good thing for America.

YOU, MR. AND MRS. MAGA, are the REAL REPUBLICAN PARTY. YOU ARE TRUE BELIEVERS IN THE PARTY PLATFORM. YOU CAN SMELL THE ROT OF THE RPOF EVERY TIME YOU WALK INTO A COUNTY REC MEETING.

We cannot get along. Why would we? We have everything to lose if we give in to appease the Republican Establishment. Do not crave peace so much that you don’t stand up for what’s right. And even if you haven’t said it out loud yet, your very soul has to be screaming that there is something fundamentally wrong with the Republican Party of Florida and almost every single county REC - YOUR local REC.

Even Jesus said he did not come to unite, but to divide. And we in the MAGA crowd are staring evil in the face once a month within our own Party. Do not concede one inch to the Republican Establishment Infiltrators of the Party. Ever.

Mr. and Mrs. MAGA…. you are and will always be America First Republicans. America First Republicans are true believers. That’s what you are. Stand.
