The People of Florida Voted for Donald Trump's Illegal Immigration Agenda... and DeSantis Embraced It

Governor Ron DeSantis held a live call earlier this evening taking questions about his Proposals of legislation to address the problem of illegal immigration in Florida. Two weeks ago, DeSantis laid out his multi-level plan, calling for a Special Session to set the example for the rest of the country in adopting the aggressive Trump Illegal Immigration Agenda…. but the Florida Legislature leadership had other plans.

What the difference? Ron’s about strengthening the immigration laws. The Florida Legislature’s bill is about growing Florida government - and that is not in alignment with the Trump Agenda. See for yourself:

The Bill forwarded by the Florida Legislature leadership, written by House Representative Lawrence McClure(D68) gives power to the Florida Commissioner of Agriculture, Wilton Simpson.

“The bill names Commissioner Wilton Simpson as Florida’s Chief Immigration Officer and establishes the Office of State Immigration Enforcement within the Division of Law Enforcement under his Department. The Commissioner of Agriculture has the capacity, expertise and resources to effectively manage this critical role, with an existing law enforcement office and a statewide presence.”

This is the largest attempted power-grab by the Republican Establishment in the history of this great state. Trump has made it clear, growing government is not part of his agenda and it shouldn’t be Florida’s either.

The DeSantis-Trump plan is clearly laid out.

As Anthony Sabatini posted on Facebook: “…pushing a FAKE immigration Bill that allows for de facto amnesty for illegals. PRIMARY EVERY LEGISLATOR VOTES FOR THIS GARBAGE. This Bill is a SLAP IN THE FACE to President Trump & DeSantis BOTH”

Ragnar Danneskjold, creator of RINOs of Florida on Facebook shared: “Our establishment legislature initially snubbed Desantis’s request for a special session regarding illegal immigration. Now they have proposed HB1, which would create even more government in the form of the “Office of State-Federal Relations”..yes, we all love even more government to resolve the problems they’ve created.

The bill would designate Wilton Simpson as ‘chief immigration officer.’ There’s a lot of reasons why Wilton Simpson should not do anything other than maybe run a roadside fruit stand, and I was saving them for the day he announces his run for governor.

For now, let’s look at how our illegal immigrant population absolutely blew up while Wilton Simpson was in senate leadership, including senate President. This is an attempt to give Simpson some much needed PR..because he isn’t even a blip in the polls for ‘26, and rightfully so:”
