The Florida REC Whistleblowers Speak
The statements made in this article came directly from Florida County Republican Executive Committee members who had firsthand knowledge. FNR Editorial (edited 06/05/2022)
Riding high and bankrolled with cash, the Republican Party of Florida should be leading the country with true conservative county GOPs, the Florida First agenda and anti-RINO leadership.
However, that is not the case. Many of Florida’s county Republican Executive Committees are dominated by RINO Establishment Republicans.
Florida News Report was contacted by multiple REC whistleblowers from six counties. Each of the whistleblowers shared their names with FNR and their stories. FNR is protecting their identities. Here is the information that has emerged:
Who wants to join the Party?
Since the 2020 election, who are these new members to the county Republican Party? If you have attended an REC meeting where new applicants introduce themselves, then you have heard directly from them: they are frustrated, angry, pro “America First” supporters, disgusted with D.C. Republicans. They don’t just support Governor DeSantis, they admire him. Many are first timers in getting involved with the Party. And many are under 50 years old.
Remember in the 1990’s when the Party wanted to broadened its base to new and diverse GOP members? Folks under 60? If you have been to a Republican Executive Committee meeting in the last five years, you know that they are dominated by members over 60 years old. One would assume that the county GOPs would love to have an infusion of younger, more active Republicans bringing their fresh ideas, their ease with technology and their talents to solve some of the internal issues the Party faces. And, maybe the Party could actually mentor the next generation of Republican leadership?
Since the 2020 election, Registered Republicans joining their local GOP seemed like the best first step for them to get involved. However, one new member in the Manatee REC recently posted after their meeting last month:
“The meetings are so obviously designed to suppress participation by the members that the agenda item at the very end when everyone is either home already, or asleep reads as follows: New Business : none.”
More Twists and Turns than Space Mountain
According to all the REC whistleblowers, there appeared to be a wide range of obstacles employed to prevent or slow down new members from joining the county Party after the 2020 Presidential election. In two counties –- Collier and Manatee— three whistleblowers told of instances where flyers were passed around within the REC meetings advising members not to allow two folks in who wanted to join since the 2020 election. Both were prevented from joining.
One man alleged he tried to be sworn in for months into one central Florida county REC, but his notarized “membership application” which was in the possession of SREC leadership, was not brought to the meetings to be voted on for five months in a row this year - an election year.
In Flagler County, where FNR received the most whistleblower contacts, folks alleged that three men who were flag waving after the election, which was high profile in that county, had their membership applications go missing. Another alleged that one man showed up at a meeting and was told not to come back. Some Republicans were told to reapply for membership, delaying their swearing in according to another whistleblower allegation.
Neighboring St. Johns County REC is not much better according to several whistleblowers. They made allegations that a new intake form was created with the question, “How did you hear about us?” and if the answer contained, “MAGA” or Bannon’s War Room, the applicants were told they would be better suited for other like-minded groups, not the REC. Another St. Johns County whistleblower alleged that last summer, prospective members were adamant about speaking at the end of the REC meetings, with serious concerns about election integrity and pointedly asking what the Republican Party of Florida was prepared to do to save the country. By August, the attendees had gotten so rowdy, loud and frustrated, the REC board actually considered hiring bouncers to stop the speakers with their questions. Instead, the board decided to use a bullhorn to end speakers’ three minutes.
David Wallis, Treasurer of the West Pasco Veterans Republican Club, stated, “So much for the Big Tent Republican Party!”
What’s the big deal?
The Republican Party at the county level has thousands and thousands of unfilled Precinct committee positions open.
What do Precinct Committeemen and Committeewomen do?
They get elected to manage a specific voting precinct containing thousands of voters which contains both parties and NPAs. The Precinct Committeewomen and Committeewomen are to make direct contact with the Republican voters in their precincts.
Why would any Florida county GOP want to turn any registered Republicans away and keep them from joining to help the Party when direct voter contact is the most effective way to win elections?
What’s a Primary “Super Voter” and what’s so super about them?
Republican voter turnout for every August Primary election is historically low. Hovering at 30% voter turnout, it seems most Republican voters skip the Primary election and only show up to decide between a Democrat candidate and a Republican candidate in the November General election. Within that 30% Primary voter turnout, there are the reliable Super Voters.
Republican Primary Super Voters have voted in the last two elections within these parameters:
In a non-presidential election year, a voter is deemed a “Super Voter” by having voted in the two prior non-presidential primary elections.
In a presidential election year, a voter is deemed a “Super Voter” by having voted in the two prior presidential primary elections.
You can count on death and taxes….. and Republican Super Voters
They show up in August. They decide between two or more Republicans who will run in the General Election in November.
Primary Super Voters choose between:
A RINO Establishment candidate who doesn’t adhere to the Republican Party Platform
OR
A Republican constitutional conservative candidate who embraces the Republican Party Platform
Super Voters decide the direction of the Republican Party.
It is just that simple.
If you have ever wondered why derelict RINOs get elected over and over despite terrible polls and dismal voting records, look no further than to the Republican Super Voters.
The RINO Establishment seems to target these voters with mailers sent by Dark Money PACs and based on these specific voters’ demographics, specific media outlets for the Primary election. Republican Super Voters are likely micro-targeted by the RINO Establishment.
The RINO Establishment has mounds of cash from special interest groups to bombard these Super Voters, which total less than 30% of the total number of registered Republicans in a county to sway the Primary election. It’s not a lot of voters to spend their money to influence.
The Republican candidates who truly represent the Republican Party Platform however usually don’t have mounds of cash because special interest groups aren’t interested in funding principled candidates.
Aaaaaaand here is where it all comes together
Back to the thousands of Florida county Republican Precinct Committeewomen and Committeewomen positions that are unfilled. Ideally, those positions would be filled by the new, energized members who would make direct contact with the Republican Super Voters in their precinct. And most of these new, energized REC members are against the RINO Establishment. So those RECs with RINO leadership appear to want to give access to these new members to speak to their precinct Republican Super Voters. Frankly, a couple of the REC Chairs reported by the whistleblowers appear to be oblivious about the importance of the Republican Primary Super Voters.
Studies have shown that a direct conversation with a target voter has been the most successful way to campaign.
This face to face conversation - this direct voter contact…. a real conversation about policy positions, the Republican Party Platform as a litmus test for RINOs and voting records so the Super Voter can REALLY be informed before making a decision between two or more Republicans in the Primary is priceless.
That direct contact with a Super Voter can change the direction of the Republican Party of Florida.
It’s the best kept secret the RINO Establishment has.
The RINO Establishment appears to want the status quo for the Primary, where they have almost complete control, skipping over activating the REC membership for Primaries, but then ramp up the REC membership for the General Election.

Manatee county is the poster child for this Super-RINO status quo dynamic- but it’s about to change 😉
Volusia county lost several clubs in 2020 because of the control the REC wanted over the clubs.
Now they may vote on who to put on the voter guide for the primary. I believe they are power hungry Rinos and are trying to push forward the very best the swamp can buy. I’m disgusted
