Florida County GOPs Getting It Right for 2024
Great GOP leadership and planning don’t happen by accident - by Priscilla Grey
Good morning! Didn’t we all vote against Daylight Savings time at least twice? And here we all are preparing to be exhausted this Monday morning, our wishes ignored at the ballot box…boo.
But finally, 2024 is here and we finally have our chance to yell at the top of our voices at the ballot box…. first……..for the March 19th Republican Presidential Preferential Primary.
While so many Florida Republican Executive Committees (RECs) have done exactly nothing to prepare for the 2024 Presidential Election, let me tell about some counties which DID prepared for the month of March…..
First, Lake County Republican Executive Committee. As a matter of fact, they got ready for March back in the fall. Lake County Chairman, Anthony Sabatini said:
“We in the Lake County republican party are working around the clock to make sure Donald Trump is the next president of the United States… We started back in October when we became the first county in Florida to endorse him.”
The Lake County REC also has volunteers signed up and trained for poll watching and if the polls ever needed watching, it’s now.
Florida Republican poll watchers are required to attend training to be certified. The county REC then must submit their names to the county Supervisor of Elections so the designated poll watchers will be approved to do the job for which they volunteered.
Up in the panhandle, the Santa Rosa Republican Executive Committee is prepared for 2024. They not only recruited and got volunteers trained for poll watching at every early voting location, they have certified volunteers who will monitor the canvassing board.
Down in Hillsborough County, the REC’s Election Integrity team recruited and trained certified poll watchers for the PPP and have a team of volunteers working all the early voting sites.
In Central Florida, the Orange County REC prepared to staff their 250+ precincts with “Republican Volunteer Recruiters” to engage voters and recruit them to help with the August Republican Primary and the November General Election. Way to GO!
The Brevard County REC put some tents up around the county: “It’s a great time to let Republicans know about the Brevard County GOP!”
Poll watcher recruitment and training has been the primary focus of both Pasco County and Osceola RECs going into 2024.
There’s Two Republican Camps - Which One is Your County REC?
When you hear this rehearsed statement from the Republican Establishment, “that the job of county RECs is to get Republicans elected” what they really mean is their kind of Republican.
They are not talking about the Donald J. Trump kind of “America First Republican.”
By now, you see clearly in your very own county which kind of Republican your Chairman/woman is.
Did yours maximize fundraising in 2023 to have overflowing cash for our Republican nominee? Did they organize and holding training for volunteers for both Republican Primaries (March and August)?
If they did, it’s because they put our country before any vain pursuits unlike the Manatee County REC Chair and Board leadership. Manatee had plenty of volunteers who trained and were certified as poll watchers, but when one member learned that the Chair did not submit the list of names to the Manatee Supervisor of Elections, she and some friends raised money themselves to pay for ads in the local newspaper to remind people to vote. She then organized with other groups to cover every early voting site. Sometimes, you just have to work around a bad Chair and Board. And this awesome lady did a great job of doing just that.
If your county REC leadership is getting it right, it’s because the leadership sees the real “existential threat to America” is a Democrat in the White House not protecting American citizens from people who not only entered the country illegally, but 340,000 were flown all over America paid for by our tax dollars at the behest of the Big Guy.
Why it Matters Who Your Chairman Serves
Your Chair and your REC Board can be America First Republicans or be part of the Republican Establishment. And you can tell pretty easily by their action or inaction.
This year, did your county GOP leadership cancel the monthly REC meeting(s) just before the March Primary? If so, it’s a pattern to protect the Republican Establishment….because that’s what we have seen them do for the August Republican Primary, in 2020 and in 2022.
Counterintuitive, right?
See, grassroots candidates need volunteers from their local REC because the Republican Establishment candidates seem to get all the resources of money and time. The Republican Party of Florida’s financial records reveal that they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on county level political consultants….whose clients were ALL RINOs or part of the Republican Establishment.
There are plenty of you who have submitted accounts of real MAGA/America First candidates who were restricted from even being permitted to speak at the very RECs of which they are members!
The Florida Republican Establishment wants MAGA to go crawl in a hole and die so they can have full control over the Party again. But that will never happen…..because out of the ashes of MAGA came a glorious new battle cry - AMERICA FIRST!
The big win only days ago of MAGA true believer, Michael Whatley, being elected as Republican National Committee Chair, and Lara Trump elected as Co-Chair, means America First has seized the leadership of the Republican Party at the NATIONAL LEVEL!
And if Michael Whatley succumbs to the dark side, we will kick him to the curb too, just like Ronna Romney McDaniel.
We have a lot to celebrate. People are paying attention. It’s easy to see the surrender in DC. And we have certainly seen surrender at the county level. But we’re also seeing America First WINS.
Don’t Stop. Never Give Up. Thank you to the County Chairs who have taken in on the chin for us … but continue to lead the way.
We’re going to need a lot of grassroots support for the 2024 election: canvassing for AF candidates, watching the polls, getting out there to get people registered and then follow up again to make sure they know who is on the ticket.
The Presidential Primary is a great place to start—it’s HERE where you’ll meet America First Republicans coming out to the polls to vote for Trump! If you have a chance, grab a friend and sit outside early voting stations (whether your Chair organized it or not). Introduce yourself. Meet fellow Republicans. And if they are America First, help them get connected and find a home.
We’re in the “building” stage of the Revolution … we’re working to build the political system where elected officials get back to representing the people. At least for THIS election, we know there is candidate who has proven himself.
Let’s get to work …
